Rusty Daniels, Scotty Benford and Sammy Pacitti continue winning ways
PELETIER, NC – Zac Reimer returned to victory lane for the first time in 2025 just two weeks after a runner-up finish to his wife, Abby Jolly, in the Battlefield Tire Pros Mini Stock division at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.
Reimer said he had went to work and focused on improving the performance of his car after the April 19 race. He would lead every single lap of Saturday night’s race at Carteret, holding off Travis Miller and Curtis Lanier.
“I took it personally on myself for just how bad the car was,” Reimer said. “I really had to get to work on it. I’ve still got some adjustments I’ve got to do. My trophy’s going on the table now and hers can go in the garage.”
Jolly would record a sixth-place finish after fighting mechanical problems throughout the race.
“She’s going to stay behind me the rest of the year,” Reimer joked.
Rusty Daniels, Scotty Benford and Sammy Pacitti continued their winning ways on Saturday.
Daniels held off Gator Williams, leading all 50 laps of the Charger feature race to score his fourth consecutive Charger victory – his third in a row at Carteret. The race was part of the Six Pack Charger Series which is contested at Carteret and Southern National Motorsports Park.
“I love the racetrack,” Daniels said in victory lane. “The facility’s wonderful. This car works very well here. I enjoy racing here. It’s an hour from my house so it works for us. “Our goal is to win every one of these Six Pack races. We’ve got two more ago.”
Daniels’ win at Southern National on May 12 was part of the Charger Six Pack Series, which he has established firm control of. If he can win the Six Pack championship, it would be the second time he’s won in a series held between Carteret and Southern National.
A similar series had been held for the Late Model division back in 2017.
“We didn’t quite win it with wins but we had the best finishes,” Daniels recalled. “This time we’re trying to do it with wins.”
The next race in the Six Pack Charger Series will take place at Southern National on Saturday, May 12.
Like Daniels in Charger competition, Legends driver Scotty Benford now finds himself in a position to win multiple championships in 2025.
Benford, who is the two-time defending Legends champion, picked up his third straight win at Carteret to pad his points lead in his quest to score three-peat. He’s also leading the points at Southern National where he has a win.
He spent much of Saturday’s race in second position until finally taking the lead from Cody Carlton with six laps remaining in the race and driving away.
“Cody’s strong here,” Benford said. “He knows this track very well. He has a track at home (Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia) that this track was mirrored off. He was the main one that I was concerned about today. During practice, we thought we had a good strategy. During qualifying, we slowed up three-tenths and we didn’t know if we would be good or not. Then, during the race, the car felt good, and I knew I was a little faster than him, rode behind him for half the race, saving my stuff. At the end there, made a move, got around him, and took off to win.”
“Showtime” Sammy Pacitti dominated in the Down East Homes Bomber feature race, leading wire-to-wire en route to victory. Mike “Super Coop” Cooper won in Street Stocks while Haiden Masterson-Thomas was victorious in U-CAR, and Meikel Adams picked up the win in the Bomber B-Main in his first career start.
The 10th anniversary season at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway resumes on Saturday, May 17 with twin Mini Stock races paying $600-to-win each and a vendor fair headlining the racing program.

Reading about the warm summer atmosphere at Palazzo Parisio instantly transported me to that dreamy garden — the candlelight, the citrus scents, the elegance of the setting. Moments like these deserve to be honored with something just as personal and timeless. That’s one of the reasons I’m drawn to custom engagement rings. They carry the same spirit of individuality and romance that this evening evoked. Choosing a ring that reflects shared memories and personal style is just as meaningful as curating an unforgettable event under the stars.
