Three Championships, One Unforgettable Night: Carteret County Speedway Prepares for the Bobby Watson Memorial this Saturday!

SWANSBORO, NC — The championship battles are heating up, the points are getting tighter, and the stakes have never been higher as Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway prepares for the Bobby Watson Memorial on Saturday, September 26th!

With the Mini Stock and U-Car championships on the line and the Charger Triple Crown reaching its final round, fans are in for a Saturday night filled with exciting racing, serious competition, and possibly a little trouble on the home front for one husband and wife! There's plenty to be decided when the green flag drops at 6 PM.

MINI STOCKS: A CHAMPIONSHIP, A MARRIAGE, AND MAYBE A NIGHT ON THE COUCH!

The Mini Stock championship battle might be the most entertaining family feud at the Speedway this season! Zac Reimer leads the standings with 30 points, but sitting just five points behind him is none other than his wife, Abby Jolly, with 25 points.

Now, a little friendly competition is healthy in any marriage, but what happens when there's a championship trophy on the line? Does Zac race his wife for the title? Does Abby remind him who he has to go home with after the race? And if Zac takes home the championship, just how many nights will he be sleeping on the couch?

We're not saying Abby is going to make him sleep in the garage with the race car, but we're not ruling it out either!

While Zac and Abby are sorting out the household championship, Travis Miller is sitting in third place with 24 points, just six points behind the leader. Miller has an opportunity to crash the family party and take the championship home for himself. Nolan Walker is also right in the mix with 23 points, only seven behind Reimer, and Travis Provost is looking to make his mark in the season finale.

To make things even more interesting, the Mini Stocks will compete in TWO 25-lap features with ONE purse and DOUBLE POINTS on the line! That means every position matters, every pass counts, and nobody can afford to get too comfortable.

Will Zac hold on to his lead? Will Abby bring home the championship AND the household bragging rights? Could Travis Miller, Nolan Walker or Travis Provost spoil the family celebration? One thing is certain: The Mini Stock championship is going to make for one very interesting Saturday night!

U-CARS: THREE DRIVERS, ONE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND NO SECOND CHANCES!

The U-Car division has its own championship battle brewing, with Michael Ludwig leading the standings at 49 points heading into the final points race of the season. But the championship trophy isn't his just yet, and two drivers are determined to make him earn it!

Eddie Humphrey sits in second place with 42 points, just seven behind Ludwig. With the final race approaching, Humphrey has his sights set on closing that gap and bringing home the 2026 championship. Every position gained could make a difference, and you can bet he'll be watching Ludwig's every move when the green flag drops.

Then there's Juan Mejia, currently third with 32 points. Seventeen points separate Mejia from the leader, and while he has some serious ground to make up, he's certainly not coming to Carteret County Speedway just to ride around and wave at the fans! Juan has one final opportunity to shake up the standings, and he'll be looking to make every lap count.

Of course, Jonathan Thompson, Duane Walker, and the rest of the U-Car field have their own reasons to finish the season strong. With everyone fighting for position, the championship contenders won't be getting a free pass to the front.

Will Ludwig protect his points lead? Can Humphrey make a last-minute championship grab? Or will Mejia deliver a performance that turns the season finale upside down?

The U-Cars have 25 laps to settle the score, and when the checkered flag falls, the 2026 championship battle will be decided!

CHARGER TRIPLE CROWN: TWO PURSES, ONE CROWN, AND A FINAL SHOT AT GLORY!

If the Mini Stocks and U-Cars aren't enough to get your heart racing, the Charger Triple Crown finale is bringing even more excitement to the Bobby Watson Memorial!

After three rounds of competition, the Charger Triple Crown will reach its conclusion with a 50-lap feature and two separate payouts on the line.

The feature race pays $1,500 to win, while the Triple Crown Championship carries an additional $1,500 bonus for the overall champion. That means one driver could take home the feature victory while another claims the Triple Crown Championship, or one driver could walk away with both!

The Triple Crown Championship is determined by the best average finish across all three Triple Crown races, and drivers must compete in all three events to be eligible for the championship bonus. Rusty Daniels sits on top with 20 points, followed by Delaney Gray, Gerald Benton, and Michael O'Brien, who are all tied with 13 points.

With the feature race and Triple Crown Championship representing separate battles, Saturday night gives the Chargers plenty to race for. The drivers will be chasing a feature win and a serious payday as the 2026 Charger Triple Crown comes to an exciting conclusion.

Who will take the checkered flag? Who will wear the crown? And could one driver take home BOTH?

The excitement doesn't stop with the championship battles. The Bobby Watson Memorial & Night of Champions will also feature the Southern Ground Pounders and VRL Lites, bringing even more racing action to the asphalt at Carteret County Speedway.

Fans can arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere, meet their favorite drivers, and get ready for a full evening of racing. The Kids Juice Box Race will also take place during intermission, giving some of our youngest racing fans their own opportunity to join in on the fun!
