Christmas Clash Preview

ree

SWANSBORO, NC – Carteret County Speedway is set to close out the 2025 racing season with one of its biggest events of the year, the Christmas Clash.

This year’s running of the $10,000-to-win Limited Late Model race, in its seventh renewal, has attracted some of the biggest stars in late model racing, including Cody Kelley, who won the race in 2023, Dylan Ward, former track champion Tyler Matthews, Jason York, and reigning track champion Rusty Daniels, among others.

The one-day event, which takes place on Saturday, December 13, will also feature a stout field of Legend Cars and the speedway’s Bomber division.

Race Format

The Limited Late Model race will be a 110-lap race.  Unlike most big money races in the Carolinas, the Clash will be a four-tire race and will not have any competition cautions or a halfway break.

While tire degradation will still be a factor, Carteret County’s relatively newer track surface is not as abrasive as Coastal Plains Raceway or Southern National Motorsports Park.

Carteret was paved in 2015, the year the track opened.  Sealer was placed down in 2020 and the corners were repaved in the fall of 2020 following a tumultuous CARS Tour race that summer.

Event Purse

The Limited Late Model portion of the race pays $10,000 to the winner.  Second on back pays $1,000 each.

The Legends race pays $2,500-to-win and has attracted over 25 drivers.
