PELETIER, NC – Chargers will have the opportunity to race for up to $6,000 in winnings during the three races the division is running as part of the Charger Triple Crown at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.
Each Triple Crown race pays $1,500 to win and drivers who compete in all three races will be eligible for the Triple Crown Championship. In all, the total purse for the Charger Triple Crown races and championship will be up to $18,000.
Additionally, Carteret County Speedway is cutting costs for drivers, with a $275 entry fee covering tires, fuel, and the driver’s pit entry – a move that brings costs down for competitors.
(Registration on race day will be $375.)
The purse breakdown for each race is:
1st place | 2nd place | 3rd place | 4th place | 5th place |
$1,500 | $1,250 | $1,000 | $750 | $500 |
While positions from sixth on back will not receive a payout, the reduced costs to compete will save racers more money.
The Triple Crown champion, which will be the driver with the best average finish across all three races, will win $1,500. Second place in the Charger Triple Crown standings receives $1,000 and third place will get $500 from the season. The championship winnings will be paid out at the end of the August 22 race.
Chargers will compete on:
Saturday, May 9, 2026 (Register here)
Saturday, June 20, 2026 (Register here)
Saturday, August 22, 2026 (Register here)
The Chargers will operate out of the same rulebook as Southern National Motorsports Park with exception of the shock rule. The complete set of rules can be found on Carteret County Speedway’s website at carteretspeedway.com.
