SWANSBORO, NC – Abby Jolly clinched the Battlefield Tire Pros Mini Stock division championship on Saturday while other championships were solidified at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.
Heading into Saturday’s Battlefield Tire Pros Mini Stock doubleheader finale, Jolly trailed her husband Zac Reimer by just one point. In the first of two races, Reimer was sidelined with mechanical issues, allowing Jolly to assume a two-point advantage. In the second race, she would edge him out on track for position to record her first career championship.
“It’s an amazing feeling,” Jolly said. “I have so many people here who have gotten me to this point. I was just kind of reflecting for a second over just how much support I have here at Carteret County Speedway. [Zac] gave me a run for my money. I really do have to give him a lot of the credit. He was the one who built this car for me when I told him I wanted a Mini Stock. He’s been an amazing support system for me this year and I couldn’t ask for a better man by my side.”
Throughout the season, the two spouses have exchanged friendly banter and raced each other hard. Off track, the mutual support continued all the way through the finale, culminating with Reimer lending Jolly the alternator off his car when her car experienced problems prior to the race.
“I don’t know many people that would do that from a competitor standpoint,” Jolly remarked. “This season, I’ve had so many people offer me their cars, parts, everything, just so I could make this championship happen.”
Heading into Coldan Services Championship Saturday, Jolly admitted she had been stressed out thinking about the championship battle after the division title slipped away from her a year ago at Coastal Plains Raceway in the season finale.
“I didn’t sleep much last night,” Jolly stated. “I was just up thinking about all the different scenarios and all the things that could go wrong, but they went right today. That’s really what matters. I just got to thank everybody for being a part of this season.”
Chuck Wall swept the twin Mini Stock features.
Mike Cooper clinched the Street Stock division championship on Saturday with his victory over Tyler Smith.
The remaining division championships had all been clinched prior to the green flag on Saturday. The other 2025 division champions are: Rusty Daniels (Charger), Mitchell Kerstetter (U-CAR), Sammy Pacitti (Bomber), Scotty Benford (Legend Car), and Maci Stancill (Jr. Mini Cup).
Pacitti and Kerstetter both picked up wins on Saturday, while Grayson Gurkin was victorious in the Jr. Mini Cup feature race.
The fall season continues on Saturday, November 8 with the Carolina Mini Stock Nationals, which will commence at 3pm. The awards presentation for the 2025 champions and top points finishers will be held at the speedway on Sunday, November 9.
