The Silos in Newport to Host 2022 Championship Banquet

This Saturday Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway will hold its annual banquet to recognize the top race drivers from all divisions in 2022. International Motorsports Hall of Famer, Harry Gant will be the keynote speaker, and the much anticipated Carteret County Speedway schedule for 2023 will be announced.

The Banquet will be held in Newport, North Carolina at the newest events center in town, The Silos! Located on Little Deep Creek Road, The Silos is the realization of a vision by Pamela Ozmore to create a unique meeting facility in Newport for weddings, banquets, corporate meetings, and the like.

Miss Pam says, “The dream was to bring class to the country.” Indeed the emphasis is on the country as The Silos Event Center is located on a working Hereford farm! Ozmore partnered with Jeremy Cannon who brought his restaurant expertise to the table as the owner of Fat Fellows.

Aside from being on a working cow farm, The Silos is unique because almost everything used to build the center was harvested off the property. “We brought in a makeshift sawmill to cut the wood,” said Cannon, “there is nothing like it.”

The Silos, opened in October of 2022, can accommodate 250-275 comfortably. “I love working with people,” says Ozmore who is beyond excited to finally see her vision come true. The Silos is open to any caterer but Fat Fellows owner Cannon jokingly adds “Fat Fellows is the preferred caterer.”

Carteret County Speedway is excited to have The Silos as the host venue for our annual banquet to honor and recognize the talented drivers who are the stars of the speedway!
