You get double the main events for one ticket this Saturday night at America's Nicest Short Track. The Solid Rock Carriers Big Money Late Model Series returns to action on the Crystal Coast with twin 40 lap features on hand! They're not the only ones doing double duty though, the Legends division will also double down with twin 20 lap features.
Joining the double doubles will be the Jr Mini Cup, Bomber, and Mini Stock divisions.
The grandstand gates will open at 5:00 PM followed by the Meet & Greet on the front stretch at 6:00 PM. The green flag has been pushed back to our summer start time at 7:00 PM.
The Late Models will battle for $1,000 to win each short 40 lap twin feature and each twin will pay full championship points which will help many drivers get close to that $10,000 championship payday. With two sets of points being awarded, each position will be crucial. Here's the current top 10 championship standing in the Solid Rock Carriers Big Money Late Model Series:
1. Connor Hall
2. Daniel Vuncannon -1
3. Jared Fryar -1
4. Tyler Matthews -2
5. Stacy Puryear -2
6. Jody Measamer -3
7. Tristan McKee -4
8. Dylan Newsome -4
9. Adam Resnick -5
10. Holden Haddock -6
The Legends will also receive full points for each twin and with a championship battle as tight as we see now, Saturday night is certain to be exciting. So far this season there has not been a repeat winner in the Legends division. Scotty Benford and DJ Murphy are tied for the championship lead heading into this weekend. They only have a one point advantage over Brenton Irving. Ed Radley is within striking distance as he enters the weekend only four points out of the lead.
There are a lot of different storylines coming into this huge weekend of racing and we can't wait to watch them play out on the track.
You can purchase your tickets at the gate on Saturday. General Admission tickets are $15, and kids 10 and under are free. You can also purchase your tickets ahead of time if you'd like to get through the line faster, advanced tickets are available at carteretspeedway.com/shootout
