CCS Gears Up For Annual Davey Allison Memorial on August 12th

The annual event that honors the late Davey Allison at America's Nicest Short Track, Carteret County Speedway is scheduled for August 12th. The event is one of the most anticipated dates on the 2023 schedule featuring the Allison Legacy Series, the Southern Ground Pounders, a $3,000 to win Legends Shootout, a $1,000 to win Bomber Blowout, and the rising stars of our Jr. Mini Cup division.

The Allison Legacy Series will bring a unique, but challenging vehicle to the flat 4/10 mile Carteret Speedway for their first and only visit of the 2023 season. The series features up-and-coming stars and veterans that provide an exciting show no matter what venue plays host week in and week out.

The Southern Ground Pounders share the spotlight on August 12th and provide some old-school cool fling to the already star-studded night of action. Their last trip to America's Nicest Short Track earlier this year on May 28th was a thrilling show! The always exciting, fan-favorite Bombers will have a chance to shine this weekend as well. They'll be competing in a 60 lap main event for $1,000! The exciting part is the race will be broken down into three stages: 15/15/30. The winner of stages one and two will restart 6th for the next stage. This adds a little excitement to the race and makes it more challenging for someone to dominate the whole race.

The Jr Mini Cups get a special highlight on this exciting night as well as they showcase the young talent that's beginning their march through the ranks here at America's Nicest Short Track!

Lastly, the Legends Shootout has become one of the most anticipated events of the season. A national qualifier for INEX, $3,000 on the line, and some of the best competition in the Legends community is what we can expect this Saturday.
